The UK’s leading sexual health charity, Terrence Higgins Trust, has announced details of its annual fundraising auction.

Lots up for grabs include a signed photo of international rugby star Thom Evans. The former Scottish rugby union player posed naked for photographer Daniel Jaems to help the charity with its auction.

Evans played for his country on several occasions, but his career was cut short in 2010 when he suffered a serious neck injury in a Six Nations clash against Wales.

He has gone on to pursue a career as a model and actor, and appeared on the 2014 season of BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.

You can also bid for a copy of the script to hit play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child signed by JK Rowling.

There are also dozens of artworks donated by the likes of Anish Kapoor, Julian Opie, Ian Davenport and Andrew Salgado.

Besides the items up for auction, a hallmark feature of the event is the opportunity to bid for exclusive experiences.

This year, this includes a dinner date with Russell Tovey, and a behind the scenes tour of the Angels of America production at the National Theatre (starring Tovey and Andrew Garfield).

You can also bid for dinner with actress Barbara Windsor and seven nights at an exclusive residence in Goa. There’s also the chance to hang out with pop band Years and Years at the Mighty Hoopla festival in Victoria Park on 4 June.

Years and Years

Last year’s auction raised £135,000 for the Terrence Higgins Trust.

Claire McMaster, Director of Fundraising at THT, said in a statement, ‘The Auction is undoubtedly one of the highlights in Terrence Higgins Trust’s fundraising calendar. Not only does the annual event see high profile artists and celebrities supporting our work, but most importantly the Auction raises a huge amount for people living with and affected by HIV.’

The auction will take place at Christie’s Auction House on 11 April. Some of the lots will be available via an online public auction, which goes live at 3pm on 11 April.
